The ring....

OK...so when I first read The Fellowship of the Ring, the one major thought that stuck in my head was "The ring represents sin." Even when I went to see the movie with my brother, it was so blatantly clear to me that the ring was symbolically sin. Now I am not saying that everyone will believe my ramblings about this wonderful tale, but think about this with the idea that Tolkien was talking about sin:

It was so hard for Bilbo to give it up...
Once he gave it up, (in the movie) you saw his face immediately relax, as if a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders...
Frodo had to destroy the one thing that consumes Man...
Even when Bilbo didn't have the ring for years, he was still tempted by it...
Frodo was tempted to use it even when told not to...
It consumes and tempts anyone who uses it or sees it...

Do you kinda see my meaning? Uncanny!

I encourage anyone to comment for I would love to see if anyone else saw it the same way or maybe you saw it differently than me.

"One ring to rule them all.
One ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them"
